Does Polyester Cause Cancer?
What the evidence says about polyester, antimony, PFAS, BPA and microplastics, which garments matter most, and what to wear instead. Sources included.
Read the article →Polyester is plastic. HyperNatural performs without it: Supima® cotton with Hyper-Cool Jade® and Hyper-Chitin in the fiber, 5° cooler, 0% polyester.

Supima® cotton with Hyper-Cool Jade® and Hyper-Chitin in the fiber. 5° cooler, 20x more breathable than polyester, 99% fewer odor-causing bacteria.
Clothing made without the plastics and chemical finishes that sit against your skin all day. Polyester is plastic, and it sheds microfibers. Stain- and water-resistant finishes are where PFAS show up: 72% of products marketed that way tested positive in a 2022 Toxic-Free Future investigation. HyperNatural fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, tested for harmful substances.
Supima® cotton and Hyper-Cool Jade® viscose, a cellulose fiber with jade minerals and chitin embedded in it, with 3% to 7% Creora® Regen recycled spandex for stretch. 0% polyester.
Yes. The performance is in the fiber. Hyper-Cool Jade® conducts heat away from your skin: 5° cooler, and 20x more breathable than polyester. Hyper-Chitin, a natural antimicrobial from crab shells, cuts odor-causing bacteria by 99%.
Polyester absorbs the oily compounds in sweat and holds them. A 2024 University of Alberta study found polyester held odor intensity longest of five fibers tested. Hyper-Chitin is in the fiber of every HyperNatural shirt, and it is not a finish that washes out.
All of them. Micro-pique and jersey polos in classic fit and slim fit, and the Topanga featherweight crewneck tee.
