Cooling shirts for men: common questions

How does a cooling shirt work?

A cooling shirt moves heat and moisture away from your skin. Most cooling shirts are polyester, and polyester is plastic: it holds heat against you. HyperNatural shirts cool with the fiber itself. Jade minerals in Hyper-Cool Jade® conduct heat away from your skin, so they are 5° cooler with Hyper-Cool Jade®, and the Supima® cotton knit is 20× more breathable than polyester.

Does the cooling wash out?

No. The jade minerals are in the fiber, not sprayed on, so every shirt stays cool wash after wash.

Do cooling shirts stop odor?

Ours do. Polyester absorbs the oily compounds in sweat and holds them. Every HyperNatural shirt carries Hyper-Chitin, a natural antimicrobial from crab shells, in the fiber. It delivers a 99%+ reduction in odor-causing bacteria and does not wash out.

Can I play golf in a cooling shirt?

Yes. The El Capitán is our golf polo in Supima® micro-pique, and the Pinehurst is a featherweight jersey polo for the hottest rounds. See all our polyester-free golf shirts.

Which cooling shirt should I choose?

For workouts and every day, the Topanga cooling t-shirt, a featherweight Supima® jersey crewneck. For golf, the El Capitán golf polo. For the hottest days, the Pinehurst Classic Fit Jersey Polo. For a closer cut, the Dagger and Biscayne slim fit micro-pique polos. Every one carries Hyper-Cool Jade® and Hyper-Chitin.

Are HyperNatural shirts certified?

HyperNatural fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and bluesign® approved. The Creora® Regen spandex is recycled and certified to the Global Recycled Standard.
